Evangelization Committee
Supporting Our Faith: Go And Make Disciples
This committee is comprised of members from St. Gabriel and St. Mary Chardon, our cluster parish. During its formation period, they spent time studying "Go and Make Disciples." They will continue to meet and study other resources on Evangelization and share what they have had success with in their own parishes and seek ways to help each parish to grow in its awareness of Evangelization. The committees from each parish also meet independent from the cluster to further the efforts of evangelization within their own parishes.
What is Evangelization?
Evangelization, then, has different implications depending on our relationship to Jesus and his Church.
- For those who practice and live our Catholic faith, it is a call to ongoing growth and renewed CONVERSION.
- For those who have accepted it only in name, it is a call to RE-EVANGELIZATION.For those who have stopped practicing their faith, it is a call to RECONCILIATION.
- For children, it is a call to be formed into disciples through the family’s faith life and religious education.
- For other Christians, it is a call to conversion to know Christ Jesus and thus experience a change to new life with Christ and his Church.
Go and Make Disciples"
With one of the pillars of the parish Pastoral Plan being Evangelization, St. Gabriel is utilizing this as its focus for the new calendar year beginning July 1st. St. Gabriel and all its organizations will be concentrating efforts on Evangelization, in particular the aspect of INVITATION.
