St. Gabriel About Us

We are called to serve our community by supporting life-long faith formation and an ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ.

St. Gabriel Stewardship

God is Calling........How will you answer?

God is calling you right now.  Calling you to understand that He has given you everything you have – Talents to share with others, Time to spend in prayer and worship, and Treasure to help those need.  Returning these gifts is the essence of Stewardship.  We have created a brochure that will help you find ways to answer His call in all three areas.  Thank you for your continued generosity in serving St. Gabriel parish and our greater community.  God Bless You.

Brochure available here. Please print and return to the parish office.  Or call Allison Capella at 352-8282 to talk over where your gifts might best be shared.

CHILDREN'S STEWARDSHIP ENVELOPES

All of us, regardless of age, have a responsibility to the church and each other to share our time, talent, and treasure for the benefit of the parish and greater glory of God.  By requesting these envelopes, you are affirming your understanding of this responsibility and pledging to make a good effort to use your envelopes regularly throughout the year.  Please fill out the form and return to the parish office.  Your child/children will receive their envelopes through their faith formation program.  Call Allison Capella at the church office with questions.

Three simple steps to a deeper awareness of Stewardship

Step One:
We were all specifically created to be where we are now, with the family and friends in our lives, gifted with skills and talents tailored just for us to carry out God's mission. We have been blessed beyond measure, each one of us.  Understand this and you know what it means to be Taken and Blessed.

Ask yourself these questions: How has God blessed me? Where can I see how the people and events in my life were specifically placed there by God?

Step Two:
Awareness that all comes from God leads us to a humble acceptance that we can do nothing without Him. In times of challenge, sadness and brokenness, our reliance and dependence on God and his grace is paramount to our healing. On the other side of these times perches the understanding that we have been brought through this to be stronger and bolder. Our being Broken allows our self to be emptied and the Holy Spirit to be poured in.

Ask yourself these questions: How have the challenges I have faced increased my reliance on God? In whom have I seen faith grow as they have worked through sadness? You should tell them of their impact.

Step Three:
We are sent forth as the Body of Christ to serve and enrich others. Sharing ourselves with others, be it in a kind smile, word of assurance or monetary donations, is how we are called. Emboldened by the Eucharist and strengthened by the Word of God, we are distributed, like Communion, out into the world to shine the light of Christ. We are called to be a Shared people.

Ask yourself these questions: Where do I use my talents and gifts currently? Do I understand where God wishes me to be placed? Do I understand that He has given me specific gifts to carry out his Mission?

We are called to a deeper relationship with Christ – every day.  Allow the Holy Spirit to work more fully in your life and understand, as Christians, we are obligated to share our time, talent and treasure. None of it is ours. It is all a gift.
