Sacrament of Marriage
To adequately prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage, engaged couples should contact the parish office at least six months in advance to schedule their ceremony with the priest or deacon of your choice.
The priest or deacon will meet with the engaged couple four times to get to know them and help them prepare paperwork, plan their ceremony and guide them through marriage preparedness.
PreCana
To enrich and strengthen their relationship, St. Gabriel Parish offers couples planning to celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony as well as the opportunity to participate in the PreCana program. PreCana is an all day retreat-type atmosphere during which engaged couples interact with each other and married couples of all ages.
Topics such as Communication, Finances, Intimacy, and Marriage as a Sacrament are presented and discussed in a group format and as individual couples. It is a great opportunity to focus an entire day on your future spouse and bring forth issues important to married Christian couples.
PreCana takes place each spring and the retreat lasts from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and includes three meals and Mass. The cost is $60 per couple which covers the cost of meals and materials.
The next PreCana program will be offered at St. Gabriel Parish on
April 21, 2012
