B.O.K.jr. stands for Builders of the Kingdom junior and it’s the name of the St. Gabriel Junior High Youth Group for grades 6-8. The goal of B.O.K.jr. is to help young people grow closer to Christ through social, spiritual and service events.
Provides social, spiritual, and service opportunities for all 9th - 12th grade students of St. Gabriel Parish. This program also provides speaker nights on certain topics to help students learn more about how to live their Catholic Faith. A leadership team of 15 - 20 students and several adults meet monthly to offer ideas and to help plan these events.
The Booster Club is responsible for financial support of our growing youth sports programs. Parents of those participating in sports serve as members of the Booster Club.
Child Care Ministry provides quality, safe childcare during special parish events to enhance the faith experiences of our parish family.
St. Gabriel CYO sports strive to help our youth develop the values or character of Christ as love, and the outpouring of self for the benefit of others. We teach "No regrets" where success is defined as giving 110% individual effort feeding into teamwork and synergy, achieving team goals and victories, while building character and having fun. It is our goal that the true spirit of competition and sportsmanship present in the St. Gabriel CYO sports program will help instill sports specific love virtues namely: Humility, Courage, Fairness, Patience, Loyalty, Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Leadership, Self-Discipline, Obedience, Hard-Work, Perseverance and the ability to get control of your emotions. St Gabriel CYO sports, with its sacrifice and expense, is only justified if it encourages our youth to live these Gospel values.
St. Gabriel School, as part of the Catholic Community of St. Gabriel Parish, lives out the mission of Being CHRIST ~ Every Day ~ Everywhere by striving to provide a vibrant center of excellence in youth education and faith formation for children in grades Kindergarten through Eighth Grades, in partnership with parents, guardians and the Church. We offer a full academic curriculum that follows state standards, with supplemental curricula in art, music, band, computer, Physical Education and Spanish, and all with instruction by high quality teachers who strive to meet the needs of all students. We seek to help students grow in deeper and clearer awareness that they are children of God who are loved and blessed with unique gifts and talents, and who are called to go forth as disciples of Christ. We strive to provide an experience of learning and community that motivates students to grow in mind, body, heart and spirit as whole persons.
An alternative to religious education, this faith formation program for children ages 3-13 is a Montessori based approach to the spiritual development of the child. Based entirely on scripture and liturgy, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd resides in a specially prepared environment called the Atrium. The hands on materials used to present lessons are designed to speak to the children in a special way, and are dynamic, interactive, and multi-sensory. Weekly sessions run from mid-September to mid-May after school; children are grouped into one of three levels depending on their age/grade. Ninety plus hours of specialized training is required of catechists in their respective level in order to provide a theologically sound program (including sacramental preparation) to encourage and facilitate your child's faith formation.
Our Preschool provides children ages 2-5 with age appropriate curriculum combined with an introduction to the Catholic faith. Volunteers are recruited throughout the school year from those involved in the preschool.
