Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program
This faith formation program for children ages 3-14 is a Montessori based approach to the spiritual development of the child. Based entirely on scripture and liturgy, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd resides in a specially prepared environment called the Atrium.
The hands on material used to present lessons are designed to speak to the children in a special way, and are dynamic, interactive and multi-sensory. Weekly sessions run from mid-September to mid-May after school; children are grouped into one of three levels depending on their age/grade. Ninety plus hours of specialized training is required of catechists in their respective level in order to provide a theologically sound program (including sacramental preparation) to encourage and facilitate your child's faith formation.
The Good Shepherd Program is a well rounded, inclusive faith formation program for children ages 3-14 that meets all religious education requirements. The curriculum follows the liturgical year and is based entirely on scripture and liturgy. Lessons are given in small groups or one on one, to enable the catechist to focus on each child's individuality and spiritual development.
