Special Needs Education
Special Needs PSR
Special Needs PSR takes place Saturday Mornings from 10:00 am – 11:00 am and is scheduled from late September through April. Through small group activities, hands-on activities and individual instruction, catechists acquaint students who face physical, intellectual or emotional challenges with: Basic Catholic Christian beliefs, Sacramental preparation & Family activities.
No one is ever excluded from the Church because of a disability. No one is ever less a person in God's eyes because of a disability. People with disabilities have their place in the Church. Jesus welcomed all people.
Super Scripture Saturdays (SSS)
Super Scripture Saturdays meets one Saturday a month from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in St. Gabriel School (unless otherwise specified). SSS allows alumni of our Special Education PSR program to come together to:
- Provide catechesis through scripture study
- Promote opportunities for personal and spiritual growth
- Provide a healthy, friendly environment in which participants can meet and develop social skills with the help of committed adults.
- Encourage on-going involvement in the St. Gabriel Parish Community
Caring Hearts
Caring Hearts allows older students and alumni to give of themselves by helping their fellow parishioners. This year, two of our older students have been helping the custodian on Saturday mornings clean the school - they are very hard workers! Caring Hearts is new and is a work in progress.
To Gather in Faith & Friendship (TGIF)
To Gather in Faith & Friendship (TGIF) is a social/faith development group for adults who are mentally and/or physically challenged from our parish, surrounding parishes and group homes. This group meets the first Sunday of the month from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm to share faith, fellowship and refreshments. Click here for the 2011-2012 TGIF Calendar.
