Fr. Alex Clark is lacing up his hiking shoes for a marathon length 26.2 mile trek to support our Youth Ministry programs. Proceeds will be used to provide faith formation retreats and opportunities for young hearts closer to Christ. This hike is inspired by the two young men who will be Canonized Saints on September 7th: Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati and Blessed Carlos Acutis.

Pier Giorgio was a 20th century mountaineer who would climb the Alps and experienced God in the beauty of creation. Having spent countless hours ministering to the poor and sick, he contracted polio from his work with homeless. He died on July 4th, 1925, at the age of 24. He is the patron of Youth Groups, Young Catholics, and Mountaineers. His feast day is July 4th.
  
Born to non-religious parents, Carlos Acutis was taught about the faith by his Croatian grandparents. Rather than the mountains, Carlos loved video games and the internet. He combined his love of God and interest in IT by teaching himself several programming languages. He began creating a website to catalogue the Eucharistic Miracles throughout the world at the age of 15. He was diagnosed with leukemia only a few months after completing the website. He died on October 12th, 2006.  He is the patron of youth and Computer Programmers. His feast day is October 10th.”
