Confirmation
Confirmation is a Sacrament of Initiation that completes the grace we received in Baptism. It seals, or confirms, this grace through the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. This sacrament also makes us better able to participate in the worship and apostolic life of the Church. Learn more about the Sacrament of Confirmation.
At St. Gabriel, young people who are in the ninth grade or older and who have received the sacraments of Baptism and Eucharist, are invited to participate in the process in the fall of each year.
Preparation for the 2025/26 year will be held in person and involves catechesis and instruction in faith led by a team of dedicated parishioners. It is augmented by speakers and an annual retreat. We begin in September. Our Confirmation date will be published when received from the Bishop's office.
If you wish to register for the Confirmation program for 2025/26 and your son/daughter is in the 9th grade, please click HERE. Please note, that in order to be on track to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the 9th grade, students need to be attending faith formation sessions or receiving formation at a Catholic School to ensure they are properly prepared to articulate what they receive. If your son/daughter has NOT been attending faith formation sessions and you would like to get them caught up in order to be on track for Confirmation (9th grade), please contact Samantha Coffman at [email protected] or call (440) 352-8282 Ext. 4109.

ADULT CONFIRMATION SESSIONS
Have you been baptized and received your First Holy Communion but have not been confirmed? St. Gabriel is collaborating with St. John Vianney Parish in offering Adult Confirmation sessions. Anyone from St. Gabriel seeking to be confirmed should attend Adult Confirmation sessions at St. John Vianney Parish. Classes will take place on five consecutive Sunday afternoons from 1:30-2:30 pm, beginning on October 20, 2024. There is no cost to attend, but you must register in advance. Please call Saint John Vianney Parish at 440-255-0600 to request a registration form for the Adult Confirmation Classes. Class dates are October 20, 27, November 3, 10, and 17, 2024
