St. Gabriel Healing Prayer Ministry
![]() Christians believe not just in any god, but a God of infinite power, mercy, and love. The Christian God is a God who did not stay away from the world, even in its pains and sufferings, but chose to enter into it alongside His beloved sons and daughters. Further, through faith, a living relationship of cooperation and trust with God, life can be transformed.
One way that we can know of God’s real presence in our lives today is through the Church’s mission of healing - a real, current extension of Jesus’ own Galilean ministry. A healing could be defined as, “an encounter between God’s power and human receptivity.” It is true that Jesus did not just exist historically in the past, but continues to exist today and wants his people to continue to know of his immense love and great power in our lives. St. Gabriel’s Healing Ministry is devoted to respond to Jesus’ call to proclaim the Gospel in the world today and help bring healing to God’s people. While the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is the “ordinary” (the chosen) means that God has chosen to bring about healing in His Church, as Christians - empowered through the grace of Baptism - intercessory communal prayer is an extraordinary (outside of the ordinary, but not superior to it) way that God chooses to work through His people to bring about healing in His Church. Pope Francis’s Prayer to Mary during Corona-virus PandemicO Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm.
You, Salvation of Your People, know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen. Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of we who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen. |
