Prayer Shawl Ministry
|
Power of Prayer
For each prayer shawl, prayers of hope and comfort are said from the first stitch to the last stitch for the shawl recipient. They are wrapped and blessed with a guardian angel medal and prayer card. Members continue to pray for those who have received a shawl. Prayer Shawls are available in the Parish Office. All are Welcome! If you do not know how to knit or crochet or are just a beginner, you are more than welcome to become a member. Our members are more than willing to help you learn. If a prayer shawl seems too big to start, you can make a hat or scarf to be donated to the Community Day of Service in November. Please consider joining, even if you cannot attend the meetings. Contact Colleen Nagy @ [email protected]. Thank You for your Donations! Thank you so much for answering our request for yarn donations. It has helped us tremendously, as the price of yarn continues to increase. Donations can be dropped off at the office. God Bless You! Our History Our Prayer Shawl Ministry was formed in 2010 and is based upon the Prayer Shawl Ministry (shawlminstry.com) which began in 1998. Our ministry has grown tenfold over the years! "Shawls ... made for centuries universal and embracing, symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God. They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify. Those who have received these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to fly above their troubles..." Written in 1998 by: Janet Severi Bristow Copyright ©2021 |
